At Last

At last, my love has come along...sing it with me! At long last, my Revolution arrived on Friday. I picked it up right after work. The ladies at my lss were all excited. I was a bit let down that they had not ordered any Grands dies but that would have been a wallet pincher any way. So I took my treasure home and immediately got to work. I had an alphabet that I needed to set up with the foam. I put four dies on the plate and cranked. It was so quick and easy, especially compared to my blue tool! Heaven! I can't wait to get some Grands.

Now for a news update...I decided not to apply for the lss design team this round. They had allowed less than 3 weeks to put together the application portfolio and I just had too much other stuff going on. They'll choose a new team in 6 months so hopefully I'll be able to apply for the next round. One of the projects I'll need to show them is an idea for a class. I'm working on a concept for a Ya Ya (friendship with a diva twist) paper bag book. A few ladies on my web site have offered to road test the class online. Some are digi scrappers, some are beginners so I will have a nice mix of scrappers providing feedback. I'm excited!

Shopping Score

Saturday I trekked out to some of the lss that are a bit further away than my favorite store. Boy am I glad I did! At the first store I picked up the QK stamp set for $16 :) The second store had AL Christmas stamps (I've been looking for these for months) and the new Lil Davis stamps. The Lil Davis stamps are perfect for the project I am working on this month.

Tonight is the first chat for the BPS Greatest Love class. I've been having such a great time with the assignments. I was really worried I would get behind...I have a lot to say!...but so far I am on track to finish well before Valentine's Day. I've decided to work in 8x8, which I have never done before. I'm also planning to do more computer journaling than ever before (I usually handwrite my journaling). I've got a couple of ideas for pattern papers to work with. I am leaning toward the new line from CI and Marah Johnson called Love Struck. This line is too cool!

I'm getting my mojo back after a tough day yesterday. A coworker really made my day just recognizing how hard I've been working and suddenly my energy is returning. I can't wait for 5 o'clock so I can direct some of this energy toward scrappin'.

Highs and Lows

Today's high note...I received my Cocoa Daisy kit designed by Ali Edwards!

Today's low note...my Revolution still has not arrived. I preordered a little over a week before Christmas during our December Quickutz club meeting. One of the LSS employees told me it would be in before Christmas as the order would be placed the next day. Another employee told me they could not guarantee that date but that the order should arrive before New Year's. Fast forward to last Friday, January 5th. I go into the store and ask the cashier to check on my Revolution. Her response of "what's a revolution?" struck my last nerve. Another employee offered to check. A third employee told me they thought it would have been delivered that day but since it was not in they fully expected the delivery on Monday, January 8th. All this time I had not heard one word from the lss about my order. I was not pleased but at least the item was due in the next business day.

Monday I heard nothing from the store. Last night I gave up and called them. The SA who answered the phone said simply "They're not in yet". I asked about a timeline for delivery and she explained about a shipping problem and an order being tracked. I totally understand this kind of thing and I know there is nothing my lss can do until UPS tracks down the missing shipment. My problem is that about 15 people preordered this with an understanding that we would have the product within 2 weeks. Not once was I contacted by the store with an explanation of the delay. This is my second special order for an expensive item that has been mishandled. I love this store but I don't understand the lack of customer service on special orders!

Sweet!

I scored some terrific goodies on my shopping spree! I found a DCWV Once Upon A Time stack Thursday night and then Saturday I finally found the Far East stack...at last. I also got a great deal at Hobby Lobby and picked up clear journal stamps by Autumn Leaves and clear Christmas stamps from Art Warehouse. Then I found the new Daisy D's at my fave lss. So exciting :) Now if only my Revolution would come in....

I've been working on ideas for my Greatest Love Story project. I need to sort through a box of really old photos and see what I can find from our dating years. This trip down memory lane is a great way to start my year. When I am focusing on why I love my DH it is a lot easier to pick up after him! Of course I am trying to be sneaky and make the project as his Valentine. It's tricky as he is used to me showing him what I am working on the second I finish it. So far he thinks I am organizing my scrap space ;)

Sweet Victory!

I scored a DCWV Once Upon A Time paper stack last night! I even found a few new goodies from Creative Imagination that I think will be perfect for the Valentine project I've started. That's right I took the plunge and signed up for The Greatest Love Story over at Big Picture Scrapbooking. I'm planning to make the mini book as my husband's Valentine. I'm so excited to get started. I've got my photo worksheet and I'll be sorting through pics this weekend.

Friday night is my regular shopping night at my fave lss. I've got my fingers crossed that the UPS man will deliver my Revolution today. I can't wait to work with the Grand size alphas! Just two weeks to prepare an entry packet if I'm going to try for this design team. Yikes...that makes me nervous.

Patience

Oh where, oh where has my Revolution gone? Oh where, oh where can it be? Please Mr UPS man, have mercy and delivery it to me.

It's a New Year and I am ready for some serious scrappin' goals. First, I am considering a number of BPS classes including Greatest Love Story, Product Playground and Choosing Joy. If you've taken any of these and can offer a review please post it for me.

Second, my fav lss has decided to start a design team. The term will be for 6 months with product kits provided. It looks like a great opportunity but I have never submitted my work before so I have no idea how I would be judged. I'm thinking there will be some serious competition! Anyone have advice for me?
