Martha

Years ago, when I was living in Connecticut, I became a fan of Martha Stewart. Oh, the recipes I learned from her tv show! And the gardening tips I found in the magazine! I still use lots of Martha's ideas for home keeping, organization and holiday decorations.

I was pretty excited when Martha first announced she would introduce her on line of paper crafting products. I finally got to see some of the goods yesterday at Michaels. It's a good sized collection with nice basics. The 18x18 album isn't for me, but I remember (Weddings) Darcy Miller's 18x18 album and it was totally stunning. I think I may pick up some of her glitter and glitter tape. I have high hopes for the scrapbook week on the Martha show.

Thank you!

With so many bad things happening in our world today, it can be hard to remember that the world is also filled with good people. Anne Frank wrote "...I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart". There are people in this world putting themselves out for others simply because it is the right thing to do. I know because I saw a few of them over the past couple of days. I want to send out a huge thank you to the ladies who added Lindsey to their prayers, to the ladies who cropped with us Saturday and took such good care of us, and to the ladies who donated materials for us to use in our card making fundraiser. Your kindness means more than I could ever put into words.

It's in the Cards!

It's offical. My scrapbooking pal has started her fundraising efforts to cover the expenses from her lung transplant. Cystic Fibrosis patients her age typically wait 8 months for a donor match. Which means we have very little time to concentrate on fundraising! The local chapter of the CF Foundation has hooked us up with an organization that specializes in transplant fundraising. We've got ideas for everything from a golf tournament to a benefit crop. In the next few weeks we'll be putting together a web site.

We've decided to sell paper craft projects at some of our events and on our site. We've got ideas for paper bag books, brag books, card/recipe holders, CD binders, journals and cards. I decided to practice with Easter cards for my family. I took one of the finished cards to work and two of my coworkers placed orders for cards! I am so excited :) I've been browsing magazines and the Two Peas gallery and I am totally pumped about making cards this weekend.

I'm a Winner!

Woo hoo! I am so excited to report that I am the lucky winner of the Bo Bunny shop hop basket from the Scrappin Shoppe. I picked up my prize yesterday on my lunch break and tore into it as soon as I got home. In addition to plenty of pattern paper and cardstock stickers there was an impressive variety of precious petals and ribbon packs. I love Bo Bunny so this was truly the perfect prize for me. I feel so lucky! Thank you Shop Hop and Scrappin Shoppe :)

Shop Hop 2007

It's true. I shopped until I dropped! It took me a full week to visit all of the stores in the Shop Hop this year, but wow am I glad I did. I was so excited by the variety of unique items in one of the Lake City stores and I was truly overwhelmed by the volume and the full aisle of Heidi Swapp goodies we found in Ocala. My shop hop/ scrappin' buddy and I turned in our passports Friday night to be entered in the grand prize drawing. Our home store has a huge sei gift basket in the prize raffle that would be perfect for my buddy. She bought sei in nearly every store we visited! I've got my fingers crossed :)

Now it's time for us to sign up for a crop and use these goodies. I've got ideas for layouts, cards and even new (to me) stamping techniques. Woo Hoo!
