It's Quickutz Club Night!

I took the plunge and renewed my club membership. Quickutz just keeps getting better and better. I love the cookie cutter die concept. I hope we'll play with some of these dies tonight!

This is such a busy week. Last night, DH and I went to see the new Harry Potter movie. Tonight I need to make a few cards after our club meeting. Thursday is the first special event of the charity campaign I serve on. Check it out at www.wish2breathe.org I'm realy excited about getting started and I can't wait to advertise the benefit crop I am working on for September. I've got to make the display boards Wednesday night.

The new Harry Potter book will be released at midnight Friday. I hope I can get a nap after work! DH and I will go to Borders for the Grand Hallows Ball and pick up our copy. We are driving to Orlando on Saturday and I am thrilled to have time set aside to read. Saturday night we'll be attending an Eagles tribute concert at Epcot. The Eagles are my all time favorite band so I am really looking forward to this.

With this schedule I think I should reserve Sunday just for sleeping!

New card creations

Last night I drove all over looking for the newest edition of Paper Crafts magazine. This magazine just gives me so much card making mojo! I checked M's, two lss and finally hit the jackpot at B&N. I can't wait to make more cards :) I wonder what DH would do if I signed up for a crop this Friday night? I'm already going to a class on Saturday but I am itching to play. I dreamed about cards last night!

Speaking of cards, these two were created for a co-worker. I sold them with vellum envelopes. The thank you card has a velvet ribbon.

Yes!

I got so much done at Friday's crop! Plus I had a great time and got to meet new friends. I cannot wait to go back.

I had been totally blocked on making this particular card all last week. Friday I saw another ad for QK cookie cutter dies and finally an idea came to me for the card! I would use the nested ovals and cut a phrase using the lemonade letters inside the smaller oval. At first, foaming the dies was a bit challenging. The letters were all jumbled in the bag and handling them left a metallic dust on my hands. (Yuck!) The lss did not have the new magnetic books for the die storage so I'll have to live with the bag for a little while. I cut the foam and seriously worried I was going to damage my revolution. The sticky cutting mat actually curled! I kept going and cut the oval with the letters set on the sticky mat. The end result was cute, but I did have a hard time getting the letters off the sticky mat.

Fill Up The Calendar

You know how your "to do" list gets so long that you never seem to finish and have time for the good stuff? Or by the time you get to fun stuff like scrapping you are so tired you end up blocked or giving up to be a couch potato? Well, it's time to move fun higher up on the list! I've actually putting scrapping and card making on my calendar. These committments are in ink :)

Last week I joined a monthly stamping group. I am so incredibly glad I did this! Before the meeting I didn't know any of the ladies well, but I ended up having a blast. Everyone was helpful and I can't wait to go back. While I was there, one of the ladies invited me to crop at a new lss in our area tonight! I have a huge card order and I can't wait to go.

I've decided to renew my Quickutz club membership this weekend. I can't wait to play with the new cookie cutter dies. I'm thinking of getting the sticky mat, ovals and phrases to start. I may skip the phrases and purchase the Lemonade alphabet! Magnolia is on my wish list.

Next weekend I am signed up for a three hour class. I am already putting items on the calendar for August. I am cropping with Donna Downey! Plus, I am cohosting a benefit crop in September. I just love having this stuff on my calendar where I know I have made time for me and I have something to look forward to :)
