Someone Should Make...

Today I've got a list of scrapbooking goodies I wish someone would manufacture. Please feel free to add to my wish list!

Bummer

After weeks of waiting, I finally gave up and ordered the new CK organizing book from Amazon. It was delivered last week and I had high hopes it would inspire me to get my scrap room back under control. Sadly, I have to report that at first glance I haven't picked up anything that I will incorporate in my scrap room. I am still seeing this as a Neat/ Mission:Organization style project where most of the room will be emptied and sorted before I return items to my scrap space. Of course, that means I need a huge chunk of uninterrupted time to work on the project and that the rest of my house will be in total chaos if I have to stop in the middle of the project. I'm going to have to find a better way. Maybe I can just pull all pattern papers one night and stickers another night?

Nuts!

What is it about Monday? Here I am at my mission impossible job, wishing I could go back home and get stuff done. I had great intentions for the weekend. I spent about half the day Saturday coding a web site I am creating about my friend's recent lung transplant. Saturday night we had a fundraising committee meeting. Somehow I managed to find a little time to play with making cards, but very little else got done. Why is it that the more you need to get done the more likely you are to be too tired or too busy to get it done?

In honor of my nutty schedule, here is a new card I created for my Mom. Mom loves squirrels and currently has two as pets.

Newest Creation

Ok so this is not the best scan, but I was having trouble getting the flower flat enough. I love this little card and I know just who I am going to send it to :) Tonight I am working on Father's Day and Thank You cards. I can't wait to play!

Score!

I treated myself to a trip to the lss on my way home from work yesterday. I had a 20% off privledge through the store's reward program so you can imagine how excited I was to find not only Paper Crafts Joy of Card Making 2 but also older special editions like Card Fashion and Gourmet. I have so many ideas and designs I want to play with! I can't wait to wrap up my work day and head home to my cards.

Here is last night's creation:

Creativity Rush

WOW! A few weeks ago I noticed a Paper Crafts special edition magazine titled "You Go Girl!" I liked the ideas, but I have a hard time paying $15 for a magazine. Fast forward to Sunday, when I found a Michaels coupon in the newspaper. I knew just what I wanted :) I bought "You Go Girl!" and the June/July issue of Paper Crafts. I am totally hooked! I cannot stop thinking about the cards I've seen and how I can use these designs for my current projects. I've got ideas for birthday cards (I need to make 2 tonight), Father's Day cards (I need to make 2 in the next week) and a card for a special friend. I saw so many great designs that it is hard to choose just the five I need! I think I am going to treat myself to their special edition "Joy of Card Making 2". I could just pop in to the lss on my way home....I am smiling already.

Neat

I'm hooked on organizing stuff. I love the gear, the books and even some of the tv shows. I had a few episodes of Neat on my TiVo this week and I was really looking forward to watching them. The professional organizer, Helen, is tough but fun. The thing is I have no desire to purge. I love my things! I just want to have a place for all my stuff :)

So this weekend I am hoping to find the new CK organizing book to inspire me to clean up my scrap room. I need some motivation! Just thinking about a big project like this makes me feel drained. I can't seem to see how to break it up into baby steps. I'm thinking of something more like the Neat approach where the room literally gets emptied, the items sorted and then put back into the room. Of course, I don't have two days to devote to my room and I wont be moving any big furniture.

I know if I could just get started I would re-energize because I actually enjoy organizing and the sense of accomplishment I feel when I complete even a baby step task. Anyone want to share organizing tips?
