Silhouette rocks!

I've had my Silhouette cutting system just over a week now and I'm here to tell you it just doesn't get any better than this! To begin at the beginning...the set up took about 15 minutes. The installation guide is simple to use and walks you through setting up the software, the USB cable, and the cutting blade. Installation wraps up with your test cut.

The software is easy to use and shapes as well as text are easily manipulated. The Silhouette comes with 50 shapes and phrases. I think the online library is a pretty good deal with the download card plus they have a buy one get one free promotion going on right now. I also received a free design coupon for registering and taking a short survey.

I admit I have become a font addict over the last week. I've downloaded dozens of free True Type fonts. I have tons of Disney World photos so I especially love the various Disney related type styles. My dream is to see Disney shapes in the Quickutz online design library!

Still on my Silhouette to do list:
1. Weld a cursive title
2. Create my own shape in Abode Illustator

Bonus!

A big thank you to the folks at Hobby Lobby! My Mom and I were out shopping on our lunch hour when Mom suggested we pop into Hobby Lobby. I wasn't planning on going there so I did not have my 40% off coupon with me. Lo and behold, they had the DCWV 12x12 Glitter Stack I have been searching for! Even better, the manager & cashier cheerfully agreed to honor the discount even though I didn't have the coupon with me. I was so impressed with their customer service. Thanks again Hobby Lobby!

I'm so excited!

Last night was Quickutz Club night at my lss and it was the best! I got the very last Silhouette they had in stock and I got an awesome deal on it. I had 4 loyalty rewards cards to redeem plus my club discount on all Quickutz. Hurrah!

I can't wait to wrap up my work day so I can go home and set it up. I'm so excited!

I also got a tip from our club leader to expect awesome things from Quickutz in April especially for the Silhouette. Rumor has it there will also be another spring set continuing the tradition of Ginger and Sunshine too. I can't wait!

Clip It Up!

The first time I saw the Clip It Up storage system online I knew I had to have it! Then I saw the price tag :( As much as I loved the idea of having embellighments out where I could see them (and be inspired to use them) and still have them organized I couldn't rationalize the expense.

Then I got an email from one of my lss. I had pretty much quit this store because they sent their customers what I considered a very offensive email at Christmas. The email invited customers to open the most important present under the tree and accept Jesus in your heart as god's gift to you. It even invited those troubled with spiritual doubt to contact the ladies at the shop for help! I bit my tongue when they played Christian music in the store and even when they displayed posters for religious events and religious symbols in the store. But this email had me seeing red. I certainly do not want a store I patronize to attempt to press their spiritual beliefs on me.

So this email was a coupon for 40% off any item in the store including the new Clip It Up which had just arrived. Oh so tempting! But could I really give my money to a business that had offended me so? I went to two other scrapbook stores but no one else had Clip It Up. I broke down. I went in and bought only the Clip It Up base and upper tier. I used my coupon and I got a great deal. Seems a witch's money is as good as any others.
