Scrappin' Current Events
Do you scrap national news or political happenings? Driving in to work this morning, I had a vision for a page including photos of gas station signs. I find myself talking about the economy a lot these days and I think it's time to document how I feel in my Book of Me. I am especially excited to create a page on the race for the Democratic presidential candidate, both as a historic event and as a personal story. I live in Florida and because our primary was held early, I don't know yet if my vote will count. I strongly believe in my candidate and I have a lot to say on politics from Iraq to taxes to voter apathy. Turns out I've got a lot to say about the environment from polar bears to recycling too.
All of this has got me thinking on events I want to record in my BOM. Here are a few examples:

- I was in elementary school when President Reagan was shot. My brother and I sent a get well card. I still have the thank you card from the White House.
- I adored Princess Diana. I stayed up all night long watching coverage of her wedding. I was in a grocery store when I heard the news that she had died. I honestly could not believe it. My knees buckled and I came close to fainting.
- I want to make a page about "where were you when"...I want to put down where my parents were when they learned President Kennedy had been shot, where my family was on 9/11, etc.

Forevah!
Hello again :) It has been such a long time since I've posted to my little blog. My thanks to all of you who decided to come by for a visit.
For those of you new to my little corner of cyber space, I am a thirty something career gal who primarily scraps Disney and pet pages. My DH and I have been married for 12 years. I started scrapbooking about a year before we were married. Fast forward to the present and my scrap stash is threatening to take over our home ;) In the last year or so I have also discovered card making and begun to dabble in stamping.
Right now my biggest scrap challenge is time. I have a crazy schedule and usually find that by the time I get home at night I can hardly keep my eyes open. Somehow I have got to find the energy and the mojo to create:

Right now my biggest scrap challenge is time. I have a crazy schedule and usually find that by the time I get home at night I can hardly keep my eyes open. Somehow I have got to find the energy and the mojo to create:
- A birthday card for my sister-in-law
- A birthday card for my nephew
- A birthday card for my Dad
My card style is still very simple, which I hope comes across as elegant, but I am looking to step it up. I just received the June issue of Cards and I am anxiously awaiting the next issue of Paper Trends. These two magazines always seem to get my creativity flowing.
